About Eric A. Covely
Board Certified Pedorthist

Eric A. Covely is a local guy, born and raised here in Eugene, Oregon. Eric was born April 5, 1970 downtown at Sacred Heart hospital. As a child he loved baseball and football, but living in Eugene inspired him to develop a passion for running. He began running on Pre’s Trails almost as soon as they were built and his running soon took on a competitive note when, each day, he would race the bus the two or three miles home from school. He still relishes the memory of the first day that he beat the bus home! Early on Eric’s aspirations led him in the direction of a career as a paramedic or firefighter. After graduating from Sheldon High School, however, he took a slightly different route toward helping people and attended Lane Community College. At Lane he received an associates’ degree in Health Care Administration with a focus on becoming a physical trainer. With a degree in hand, Eric spent the next 10 1/2 years working for other health care providers, gaining experience, and learning the ropes of running a health care business. After a decade of helping other people out with their businesses, Eric felt it was time to move out on his own. First, though, he attended Oklahoma State University where he was awarded a degree in Pedorthics in 2002. Then in March of 2004 he was finally ready and he opened Track City Orthotics in Eugene, the culmination of a lot of learning and a lot of hard work! As Eric says, “The success I enjoy as a result of my study, training, and experience is enhanced by the enthusiasm I feel for the work I do and the satisfaction that comes from making a positive contribution to people’s lives.”
